Brace yourselves - there are a lot of Target buys in this blog post.

I haven’t been to Target recently, so I hadn’t seen all of their new summer items. I wanted to buy one of everything, but Colin was there so I behaved (husband probs).

Also, I guess they collaborated with Vineyard Vines for the summer? That threw me for a loop. You do you, Target, you do you.

And now, this week’s round up of 80% Target, 20% Amazon (lol):

1. ZESICA Bohemian Floral Mini Dress from Amazon - Okay, locating this dress was not for the faint of heart.

The first time I ordered this dress, I ordered a size large and when it arrived, it was TINY. (Yes, I recognize the irony in all capsing “tiny”, but I need emphasis here.) The fit was about a quarter inch of fabric away from a Janet Jackson nip slip circa 2004. I sent it back with godspeed.

I tried to reorder from the same seller, but large was the largest size they carried. I found another seller with the exact dress pictured, and ordered the XL, but when this dress came in, it was not the same at all. While the pattern was the same, the fabric felt suuuuper cheap + fit like a burlap sack. On top of that, it wasn’t a true wrap dress. While it looked like a wrap, it had an elastic empire waist and was a solid dress... Just gross. I sent it back, too.

I decided to give it one more try, and this time I lucked out. I found a ZESICA - a seller that not only carried a well-made wrap dress in sizes XS-3XL, they also have TEN color options. I ordered a few sizes, and I’m ultimately keeping the XL. I almost kept the large but it was pretty tight across my chest, plus I wanted more of a looser boho fit, so I sized up. I’m also going to order another one, maybe in the navy. It’s only $25 from Amazon, but you’d easily pay $75 if you found it in Alter’d State.

2. Sincerely Jules by Scünci Wavy Open Bobby Pins - Hair barrettes are coming back with a vengeance this season, but I’m not feeling bold enough to wear most of them (also, just not sure that they fit my ~style~). However, I found these super cute bobby pins at Target, and since they’re a little more sleek, I bought them! I really like the understated accessory look, and for $8, they’re a win-win. They come in a pack of 6 - two rose gold, two gold, and two silver. Target is the best.

3. Opal House XL Zebra Beach Towel - For the first time in my life, my residence has a pool, so I’m justifying spending $12.80 on a beach towel. Usually $16, this was another item that Target has on a 20% off sale. At 3 feet wide, and 6 feet long, it’s a great size towel. Also, it’s described on their website as being for people who want to “create spaces as bold as their spirit.” LOL. Never been bold but want to be? I’ve heard this towel does the trick.

4. Opal House Pieced Triangle Frame - Okay, I didn’t need another picture frame. But this one was 20% off, and you never know when you *might* need another one. (I’m framing memories, okay.)  While $15 normally, I got it for $12 since Target has all of their frames on sale this week. Also, the tiled / mosaic look fits well with the rest of my living room decor.

5. Lloyd + Hannah Faux 6ft Banana Tree - This is my self-admitted splurge of the week, but I’m really glad I bought it. I’ve had a TERRIBLE TIME keeping a palm tree alive in our apartment - I’ve gone through 2. I’m not sure how I missed the green-thumb gene in my family, but I definitely have a black thumb instead. I found this fake banana tree over in the outdoor patio section, so it may be meant for poolside, but I’m making it work. Although fake, I think it doesn’t look too fake, if you know what I mean. It’s a great size too - I often feel like fake plants are on the small side, but this one looks full.

The only downside was having to shell out $150 for it, but hopefully it pays for itself in the long run since I was already buying a new palm tree monthly for $40. Plus, think of all the money I’ll save not overwatering it. Lol.

In full disclosure, I blame you guys for my Target run since I went to buy all of those dry shampoos you suggested haha.

Lastly, I had a lot of fun looking at the purchases you tagged me in from the last blog, so thanks for tagging me! (I hope you tag me again lol)

xx
