friday favorites, part 3.
It’s time for another round of Friday Favorites! A few of these items aren’t necessarily new, but I thought they were worthy of making the list.
I’ve linked these through my Like To Know It profile so that you’re able to shop from one place - click here to shop!
1. Round Rattan Bag (aka the seemingly “it” item for this summer) - I’ve wanted a round bag ever since Louis Vuitton released their Petite Boite Chapeau. However, since that one was more than I was wanting to spend, I’ve been looking for round bags that are *considerably* less. I originally fell in love with a round rattan style bag in Dillards, but it was still over $100 (which seemed pricey for a non-designer seasonal bag, but maybe that’s just me.) About a week later, I had a stroke of brilliance that lead to me look on Amazon for a dupe. Badabing, badaboom. I present you with a super cheap, high quality option. For just under $30, this bag is well made (read, not at all flimsy) with a fun floral lining, and a functioning button. The seller also claims that it’s made from organic materials, and therefore a “clean” product. Whew, I was worried about that.
2. Texture and Thread Button Front Top - After writing a few of these round ups, I’ve realized that I could easily fill all of them with items from Madewell - I just absolutely love this company. They’re size inclusive, and are vocal about working with local and international suppliers to support responsible sourcing. But enough about that and more about this cute top. It comes in 3 solid colors, black, ivory and heirloom rose, as well as a striped option. The sleeves can be worn on the shoulder or off the shoulder by sizing up (which is what I did), and the buttons are functioning. This top definitely gives off peasant vibes, but sans all the ruffles. The top is a little spendy, and costs about $50.
3. Chunky Heart Hoop Earrings - As a girl who wears a pair of gold hoop earrings just about everyday, these are a welcome addition without changing things up too much lol. Also from Madewell (shocking), these are a great statement piece, and add a little ~pizzazz~ to an otherwise basic outfit. The earrings come in both gold and silver, and cost $32.
4. Hanalei Sugar Lip Scrub - I love a good skin care product, and this one is no exception. I’ve actually been using this product since this winter when I was battling dead and chapped skin on my lips, but haven’t stopped using it since. It has a light citrus smell and flavor and is made with raw cane sugar, so it tastes great lol. As far as lip scrubs go, this one isn’t terribly coarse, and there have been times that I just used it as a balm rather than wiping it off. I usually use it at night during my standard skin care routine, and the next morning my lips feel super smooth + healthy. You can buy the lip scrub from several locations, but the cheapest I’ve found it is on Amazon (where else) for about $15.
5. Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens - This is for those of you looking for a good poolside read this summer. It topped the The New York Times Fiction Best Sellers of 2019 for twelve weeks, and I totally understand why. The book follows the life of a young girl in the rural swamps of North Carolina in the 1950’s, and is a “murder mystery, a coming-of-age narrative and a celebration of nature” all wrapped into one.
The story begins ABSOLUTELY GUT WRENCHING, but I couldn’t put it down and finished it and less than 48 hours. If my recommendation isn’t enough, it was also part of Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club lol.
You can get the hardback from Barnes and Noble for right at $15, with free shipping! (And if you’re a new buyer, you get an additional 15% off.) Otherwise, it’s on Amazon for the same amount as well.
I hope everyone is having a great Friday! The weekend is almost here.
